Finn has now completed the 5 recommended health clearances agreed upon in the USA. He has been DNA tested for vWD and ENM. His hips are rated as “Good”. Both his eyes and patella are listed as normal.
Waterbound’s 5th Kooikerhondje is now listed on the Canine Health Information Center’s Web Site

What is CHIC?
The Canine Health Information Center, also known as CHIC, is a centralized canine health database sponsored by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). CHIC, working with participating parent clubs, provides a resource for breeders and owners of purebred dogs to research and maintain information on the health issues prevalent in specific breeds by establishing a recommended protocol for breed specific health screening and recognizing dogs tested in accordance with that protocol.

Now that Finn has completed all his Health Clearances, he should receive a CHIC Certificate from the American Kennel Club certifying that all recommended health tests are completed and published. Luke’s official OFA Hip Report arrived over the weekend. He received an evaluation of Excellent! This completes required health testing for a Kooikerhondje to be used in a breeding program.

Kooikers Luke and Bree
Estaika’s Lucky Lukas (Luke) won Best of Breed, Best in the Foundation Stock Service Group and Best in the Open Show at the American Portuguese Podengo Mediogrande Open Show held in Wichita, Kansas today. He is pictured with Bree, the Best of Oposite Sex winner owned by Cheryl Short and Susanne Martin. Both Luke and Bree are co-owned with Golden Gate Kooikers.

Kooikerhondje: Muskettikoiran Flying Finn
Waterbound Kooikerhondje, Finn enjoying the springlike weather along with his best friend, Clanci. Finn, or more formally Muskettikoiran Flying Finn FDCH-S NA NAJ is taking a day off from training and just having a play day today. Finn has a FDCH-S or Fly Ball Dog Champion-Silver title at the end of his name. He just recently earned his NA or Novice Agility and his NAJ or Novice Agility Jumpers titles as well. Finn is co-owned with Golden Gate Kooikers.
