It’s official , Clanci’s Certificate of Merit has arrived from the AKC
Mendikan Clanci Bema CM CGC
Clanci is the first female Kooikerhondje and second overall, in the US to earn the American Kennel Club’s Certificate of Merit. The first was another Waterbound Kooiker, Estaika’s Lucky Lukas CM CGC. Both Kooikers are co-owned with Golden Gate Kooikers. Many thanks to Clanci’s breeder, Henna Palmunen of Mendikan Kooikers.

Clanci is the first female kooiker to earn a Certificate of Merit
Mendikan Clanci Bema CM1 CGC Congratulations to Clanci! Clanci has become the first female Kooikerhondje to earn a Certificate of Merit from the AKC’s Miscellaneous Class. Clanci is co-owned with Golden Gate Kooikerhondje. The breeds currently eligible to participate in the Miscellaneous Class are still enrolled in the AKC Foundation Stock Service®. FSS® enrollment is maintained until the AKC Board of Directors accepts the breed for regular status. Authorities acknowledge that throughout the world there are several hundred distinct breeds of purebred dogs, not all of which are AKC recognized breeds. Those officially recognized for AKC registration appear in the Stud Book of the American Kennel Club. The AKC provides for a regular path of development for a new breed, which may result in that breed’s full recognition and appearance in the official Stud Book as an AKC recognized breed.
Winners of the Best of Breed in each of the individual Miscellaneous breeds will be awarded points towards the Certificate of Merit (CM) title based on the total number of dogs competing. Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in each of the individual Miscellaneous breeds will be awarded points towards the Certificate of Merit (CM) title based on the total number of dogs of its sex in competition. The winner of the Best in Miscellaneous Class will be awarded points towards a Certificate of Merit based upon the total number of dogs that competed in all of the Miscellaneous Class breeds.
Upon completion of the CM title a dog may continue to compete in the Miscellaneous Class so long as they are of an eligible breed.
The CM suffix title is an introductory title to AKC conformation events and will be superseded by the CH title when earned. The Certificate of Merit requires 15 points awarded in accordance with the following point structure:

Waterbound Breda May, “Ruby” now has her CHIC number
Waterbound Breda May
Ruby has been awarded her CHIC number. The Canine Health Information Center, also known as CHIC, is a centralized canine health database sponsored by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals . The results of her health tests can be seen on the OFA website. OFA is a non-profit organization that collates and disseminates information concerning orthopedic and genetic disease of animals. Ruby’s hips are rated as “Good”, her patella as “Normal”, and her eyes as “Normal” . She is DNA tested free of vWd and ENM.
