New Health Clearance for Spirit
ENM and vWd test results are in!
The tests results for Lilly’s litter and for Spirit are in. Harvey is free/not a carrier of ENM. Casper is a carrier, Joy is a carrier, and Emmi is inconclusive and will be retested. Spirit is not a carrier. All are free/not carriers of vWd.

Ruby has been awarded her CHIC number. The Canine Health Information Center, also known as CHIC, is a centralized canine health database sponsored by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals . The results of her health tests can be seen on the OFA website. OFA is a non-profit organization that collates and disseminates information concerning orthopedic and genetic disease of animals. Ruby’s hips are rated as “Good”, her patella as “Normal”, and her eyes as “Normal” . She is DNA tested free of vWd and ENM.

Lilly has just received her final health clearance from the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. She will be awarded her CHIC number any day now.

Waterbound Ayrie Pedal to the Medal
Ayrie has been awarded his CHIC number by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals and the American Kennel Club. He received his chic number by completing all the required health testing for Kooikerhondje, The tests include vWd, ENM, eyes, hips, and patellas.

Finn has now completed the 5 recommended health clearances agreed upon in the USA. He has been DNA tested for vWD and ENM. His hips are rated as “Good”. Both his eyes and patella are listed as normal.

Now that Finn has completed all his Health Clearances, he should receive a CHIC Certificate from the American Kennel Club certifying that all recommended health tests are completed and published. Lilly has all her Health Clearances except her hips which will be tested when she turns 2 in May.
Astro now officially has a CHIC number
Once you have completed the required testing, be sure and double check the CHIC website. They had misfiled Astro’s ENM test results and didn’t list him as having a CHIC number. I happened to be on the site last week and noticed his absence. I called and they were able to get Astro listed on their web site in just a couple of days and the certificate came in the mail today.
